forming for years.

Shaikh Suhail is an American who calls Los Angeles home. But like many of us, his story, and his sense of style, has been shaped by more than one place. Four years in Egypt. Frequent travels to India. And a life in one of the most culturally expressive cities in the world. Each place left something with him. Eventually, those influences would come together in a shirt.

The inspiration began in Egypt

Elegance that never looked like effort.

During his four years in Egypt, Shaikh Suhail became fascinated by the effortless elegance of men's clothing around him. There was a sense of ease to it. Garments could be loose and comfortable without looking careless. They could carry intricate details and a connection to tradition without feeling excessive. That balance stayed with him.

Years later, living in California, Shaikh Suhail found himself searching for a shirt that captured some of that feeling, but one that fit naturally into his own life. He didn't want a traditional garment. reserved for a particular occasion. And he didn't want another conventional button-down shirt. He wanted Something in between — comfortable enough to wear all day. Distinctive enough to stand on its own. Refined enough to dress up. Relaxed enough to wear with jeans. And influenced by the places and cultures that had become part of his own story.

When he couldn't find exactly what he had in mind, he decided to create it himself.

From an idea in California to a search in India

The fabric had to be right, too.

The first Urban Crescent shirt was designed by Shaikh Suhail at his residence in California. But he knew that getting the design right was only half of the equation. The fabric had to be right, too. Comfort mattered deeply to him. He wanted a fabric with a high cotton content — something soft and breathable against the skin, yet refined enough to give the finished shirt a beautiful appearance and feel.

So during his travels to India, the search began. It eventually led him to Mumbai and The Ruby Mills, one of India's historic textile manufacturers. There, he discovered Lusterous Venture. It was the fabric he had been searching for.

Suddenly, the idea that had traveled with him from Egypt and taken shape in California had its canvas in India.

Then came the detail that made it personal

Shaikh Suhail didn't want to create a basic shirt and simply put a label inside it. He wanted each design to have something that made it feel special. That became the embroidery.

Every Urban Crescent shirt features its own unique handcrafted embroidery design. Some are subtle and understated. Others are intricate and expressive. Different patterns frame the neckline and placket, giving each design its own personality while maintaining the clean silhouette that inspired the original shirt.
